Suzi is pleased to have one of her photos of a chimpanzee at the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary on a recent cover of National Geographic Extreme Explorer. Ngamba Island is located on Lake Victoria in Uganda, and is home to 45 chimpanzees that were rescued from the horrific bushmeat or pet trades.

When Suzi decides to photograph an animal family, she often spends months habituating them to her presence in order to get up close and intimate photos. This adorable baby lion cub featured on the cover of National Geographic Little Kids Magazine is one in a pride Suzi followed in the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya for more than three months.

Suzi is pleased to once again serve as the Jury Chair for the Big Picture Natural WorldPhotography Competition, hosted by the California Academy of Sciences. This prestigious contest has over $10,000 in cash prizes, including a grand prize of $5,000 to the overall winner. Winning images will be on exhibit at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, CA.
