Animal Rescue Books for Kids (+ Free Puzzle)

If they are lucky, children receive love and emotional support every single day.  It only takes one look at their play to see how they understand the importance of being nurtured.  They snuggle their dolls, administer medical treatment to their stuffed animals, and tell stories to their toys.  Because of their tendency to have empathy, kids really love stories that demonstrate how animals who have been injured get saved.  Animal rescue books help children to remain optimistic and engage in proactive measures to animals.

Suzi’s three-book Animal Rescue series, published by Owl Kids Publishing, offers readers, ages 7-10, a rare view of injured or orphaned koalas, orangutans and sea otters, and the care they receive.  Each of the books includes a map, showing the location of each rescue center and the animal’s native habitat, along with an index, glossary and author questions and answers based on common questions from kids.  An author’s note at the end of each book introduces readers to small-scale ways that they can help to save these amazing animals.

It explores how sea otters become orphaned or hurt and the process of healing and rehabilitating them. It also highlights the people who work at the clinic and how they aid the animals.
